FUTURE ZOO pays homage to their name by transporting the feeling that prevailed in music-mad Britain in the early 1980s into the future. Cold War, No Future, Thatcherite neoliberalism, but also unbridled hedonism, a desire for entirely new musical and fashionable forms. This gave rise to the fascinating musical era of post-punk, new wave, and new romanticism.
This is the musical upbringing of drummer and producer Lutz Sauerbier and keyboardist and bassist Niels Matusch. Markus Schultze, the somewhat younger singer, had his awakening with the explosion of grunge from Seattle. The band from Braunschweig and Berlin releases their debut album “Karmazonia”. A true alternative pop statement with shimmering guitars, synth sounds, driving beats, yearning melodies, and occasional echoes of the early 1980s.
