For Prächtig (in English, “splendid”), the world is always as beautiful as you like. Every song is home to clever German lyrics and offers at least one catchphrase for optimists. Yet, reducing him to that doesn’t do Prächtig justice, as his repertoire spans many themes, from easy-listening singalongs to serious and sometimes sad topics. For the latter, it should be clarified that the German singer-songwriter’s melancholy is light, leaving you pensive but not shattered. It’s enjoyable music with catchy hook lines that will give you company on your way home as you walk inevitably with your arms swinging.
