Roy Amotz is a queer flautist and soul activist born in Jerusalem and living in Berlin. He is known for his expertise in baroque and contemporary styles, his experimental work, and his grief work in diverse contexts.
He performs worldwide both as a soloist and as a member of various chamber music ensembles (Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Geneva Camerata, Tel-Aviv Wind Quintet, Meitar Ensemble) and has performed under conductors such as Daniel Barenboim, James Levine, Zubin Mehta, Daniel Harding, Christophe von Dohnányi, and Matthias Pintscher.
