The American synthpop trio “Faded Paper Figures” releases one successful longplayer after another with stoic regularity. Even if the conditions for this are anything but ideal.
Heather Alden works as a doctor. R. John Williams is a full-time lecturer in English at Yale University. And Kael Alden writes music for a production company in Los Angeles.
But in a miraculous way, Faded Paper Figures now has the next result of their irrepressible creative power to marvel at: the fourth studio album “Relics”.
The band doesn’t just seem to have perfected their own unmistakable sound of electronic beats, wonderful guitar riffs and beautiful harmonies. It also drives at full power into a new world full of sitar and analog synth sounds and even more haunting vocals.
